So this happened recently – and we couldn’t be more proud. We were recognized at the NAGGL (National Association of Government Guaranteed Lenders) mid-year conference as Champions of Veterans Small Business Lending. During the San Antonio,TX conference, my partners and I received the award presented by Richard Bradshaw, President of Specialized Lending at United Community Bank and the co-chair of NAGGL’s Public Policy Committee. The Veteran Access initiative highlights the commitment of NAGGL members to providing veteran business owners with critical access to capital. The competition was judged on:
1. Evidence of increased business opportunities for veterans as a result of the nominee’s actions.
2. Advisory activities to improve awareness of small business ownership opportunities among veterans’ groups.
3. Advocacy of special consideration for veteran-owned small businesses in government policy making.
4. Other accomplishments demonstrating the nominee’s effective advocacy of veteran-owned small businesses.
44 Business Capital continues to drive home SBA’s mission of giving access to capital to under-served markets like Veterans and minorities. The 44 leadership team believes that when it comes to Vets, we should “risk a little more for those that risked it all”.
